Making an emergency landing on Rexoma Prime, the Artemis' crew has been forced to evacuate the ship and set up camp as repairs are attempted. The campers have begun adapting, not only to the different sights and sounds of the alien planet, but also to the extreme heat they are forced to endure.

Before arriving at Prime, the Artemis received muffled messages from the Federation science facility on Prime, yielding no definite assumptions, but instillingg a strong fear in the crew, with a frightening image of a towering creature that may be the cause of the complete lack in communication with the facility on Prime. The image of the creature has kept the crew on edge, always watchful of the surrounding forest, in case something terrible and powerful lurks just behind a shadow. The firepower the Federation's finest wield has failed to force away their fear as they struggle to find answers.

Soon they'll come face to face with explanations, but from the answers will they find relief, or condemnation?
